Donny Trihanondo and Tri Haryotedjo, lecturers from Telkom University, participated as presenters at the International Digital Arts and Design Conference and Exhibition (iDADCE) held in Bangkok from December 27–29, 2024. The event was hosted by Silpakorn University International College in collaboration with Birmingham University and took place at the prestigious Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel. Representing Telkom University, the delegates showcased their research on adaptive reuse in heritage conservation efforts, emphasizing the critical importance of conducting detailed and comprehensive studies of historical buildings. Their presentation highlighted the risks of misinformation and historical inaccuracies stemming from poorly executed adaptive reuse decisions, which can undermine the cultural and historical value of heritage structures. The research presented is part of an ongoing collaborative project led by Donny Trihanondo and Tri Haryotedjo, focusing on adaptive reuse strategies for historical buildings. This project aims to establish best practices for preserving architectural integrity while adapting such structures for modern purposes, ensuring both sustainability and authenticity in conservation efforts. Their participation at iDADCE not only reflected the growing importance of interdisciplinary approaches to heritage conservation but also positioned Telkom University as a key contributor to global discussions on the intersection of design, technology, and cultural heritage preservation.
